Jan-Pieter Klaver was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Heerema Marine Contractors in November 2009. A graduate of Delft University of Technology, Jan-Pieter Klaver started his career at Heerema Marine Contractors as an engineer in the projects department.

Over the years, he gained experience in project management, operations and general management in various divisions of the Heerema Group, in the Netherlands and in Norway. He was Managing Director for Heerema Vlissingen B.V., one of the subsidiaries of Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG). In 2003 he was appointed Chief Operations Officer in the holding of HFG and became Chief Executive Officer for the same holding in January 2005.

Jan-Pieter returned to HMC in 2009, initially as Chief Operations Officer, before taking up his current role as Chief Executive Officer.

Jan-Pieter holds an MBA (2000) from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
