Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) has successfully installed a 4,800-ton HVDC converter station in 40 meters deep water in the German sector of the North Sea. It will convert the energy from offshore wind farm "Borkum 2" to the German electricity grid.

 

HMC’s sister company Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) executed the engineering, procurement and construction of the 400 MW HVDC station on behalf of energy producer E.ON. For more details, visit HFG’s website.
