The Perdido Regional Host comprises a Truss Spar, moored with a nine leg taut mooring system and carrying a processing facility.

The Spar hull has a diameter of 118ft and an overall length of 555ft. The mooring components consist of suction pile anchors, pile chain, mooring connector, ground chain, polyester rope sections and platform chain secured through fairleads to the chain stoppers.

The deck was placed on the Spar hull and weighs approx. 9500 short tons. Living quarters, flare, platform crane and stair tower were installed after the deck was set during a 14-day hook-up support period.

Installation of the Spar was done in three phases:

  • Phase 1: Suction pile installation in March 2008
  • Phase 2: Hull and moorings installation in July 2008
  • Phase 3: Topsides installation and hook-up support in February 2009 with HLV Thialf
